How do I fit a muffler/exhaust tip on my oval tip 2001 Honda Odyssey?

So I was getting my 2001 Honda Odyssey serviced and saw a stainless steel resonated muffler tip on clearance sale at the shop so I bought it. The measurements of the muffler tip are Inlet diameter 2 3/4", Outlet Diameter 3 1/2", Length 8 1/2". So is there a way that I could fit this on my Honda Odyssey which has an oval tip measuring 3 1/2" horizontally, 2" vertically. If I cut it until the round part my muffler tip won't be showing because I would have to cut like 12". Please help me get this muffler tip on my van. Thanks
