Diesel Exhaust System???

Posted by John1690

On a 2006 Dodge Ram 3500 5.9L Diesel (automatic, dually). I am going to put BD Exhaust Manifold on, that way the turbo will still fit properly and it'll be less restrictive. My question though is about the rest of the exhaust. What would be best to go with, a 5 inch exhaust (i'd probably make it dual just to look better, it wouldnt really be a "true duel" consdiering its an inline 6 engine) with a straight flow thorugh muffler. Or 6" diesel stacks which dont have a muffler. I'm look for strictly performance. Keep in mind I'm going to fully tune this truck, almost everything will be altered in some way, shape, or form. So, for those you who skipped all of this. The main question is: What is better for a highly tuned deisel, 5" straight flow duel exhaust or 6" no muffler stacks?

if ya want most bang for your buck, and highest power potential,go with the stacks. virtually all sled pull trucks and semis have them for a reason. more info at www.dieselpowermag.com
