I have a 95 volvo 850 base and i purchased a spectre air filter, i was wondering would that damage my engine?

please help i dont know anything about cold air intakes=(
i purchased the air filter from autozone along with the elbow that connects to the filter.
would it add horsepower. i did feel a slight difference but im not sure and would it help if i connect a tube from the filter to the outside of the car for more cold air?

No, it will not damage your engine.

Spectre Speedliner Sets New World Land Speed Record

&Quot;To say that I'm thrilled is a shameful understatement," said Spectre Performance stagger and SpeedLiner owner Amir Rosenbaum. "The deed data that we showed up in essentially an all-new car with an iron block Cadillac machine, went over 280 mph during the shakedown run, posted a record precipitateness during the second run and backed up the record on the third run is simply marvellous. Our driver Kenny Hoover did a fantastic job under prodigious pressure and showed incredible skill behind the veer. I also want to thank Steve Schmalz and the kip of the crew at Performance Fabrication for building such a distilled car. This was a team effort and I can't wait to fall back next year - I want to break our own record and the 400mph obstruction."

The SpeedLiner made its first shakedown run on Friday, October 10th, surprising both witnesses and the body with an incredible 287 mph first pass that ended at the three mile noteworthiness (on a five mile course), when Hoover shut the car down after the fire system malfunctioned. Less than 24 hours later the car was cleaned up and genial to run again, and its second pass on the legendary salt directly wowed onlookers with a record-setting 328mph common speed. In accordance with SCTA rules, the car was then directly taken to impound and inspected, where it remained until the closing "backup run" Sunday morning. At roughly 10:30am Sunday Hoover squeezed into the touchy cockpit once more, and drove the black rocket-shaped racecar to its absolute run of the weekend, averaging 332 mph with a 340 mph dispatch exit speed. The two run average is 330.569 mph -a new magic record.
